Our Story
DC CityBall began in 2004 to provide Washington D.C. with a fun, social and competitive co-ed recreational softball league. The league began with just 5 teams playing on the mall and a few volunteer umpires and has grown to consist of over 35 teams, 500 players and a full staff of well-trained (and paid!) umpires.
When I first moved to the district I tried a few different leagues and was surprised to find a lack of well-organized, adequately-priced, co-ed leagues available. I created DC CityBall to satisfy that void. I work very hard to ensure that our league offers something for everyone-beginners and experienced players alike. Our leagues are fun and laid-back, but competitive. We are currently expanding our softball program into Maryland and hope to be offering both flag football and basketball sometime in 2008 in addition to our wiffle ball league that will be back for its 2nd season this summer.
I take pride in the product I offer and do my best to ensure that all of our teams and players have a great experience. I would like to thank everyone for their support as our league continues to grow in numbers and hope to have our biggest leagues yet this coming season. I am always trying to find new ways to help the league grow and improve and love hearing feedback of any kind from our teams and players. Please do not hesitate to contact me at any time with questions or comments about the league.
We have some new partnerships and other exciting news coming for 2008 and I cannot wait to get the season started. Thanks again to everyone for participating and I hope to see you all soon.
